My Soliloquy
As I was walking up and down the catwalk I could feel my feet shaking, my heart pumping past the normal speed limit, and a sense of nervousness I was fighting to keep under control. In my mind I kept telling myself, “ I cannot mess up, posture, look straight ahead, never turn your back toward the audience, smile, I cannot mess up.” Trying to smile as natural as I could, I could feel my lips trembling and stiffening as though they were scared. I could see the judges staring at me from the corner of my eye, criticizing me in any way that they possibly could. A sense of coldness ran through my spine knowing that all eyes were laid on me. Had I done it right? Did I mess up? Will I move on to finals? Questions were rushing through my mind like crazy. I felt excitement, nervousness, and fear all at once as I heard my name being announced. I could hear my family cheering for me as I was being given the ribbon. I had made it.
